More than 220 11th grade students applied to participate in this year's EXP Internship Program: Powered by Prologis. On the evening of September 24th, the students and their parents took part in a live, online program kick-off and orientation, which were presented in both English and Spanish.

“I chose to participate in the internship program because I felt this will be an excellent opportunity for me to experience new things, learn more about the career path I am interested in, and open me up to real world challenges and make connections,” said Kiara, a STEAM pathway student at Barstow High School. “I’m a little shy when it comes to interacting with people, but I know this is a great opportunity for me to grow and learn.”

The EXP Internship Program: Powered by Prologis is a year-long journey for 11th-grade EXP students enrolled in high schools. This year, all elements of the program are taking place through interactive online platforms. It includes a series of seven career-readiness workshops to help students gain soft-skills, develop self-confidence, and learn best practices for success in their upcoming summer internships and future career pursuits. Students complete their workshop training in the spring by preparing their internship applications and creating their very first career portfolios, including a resume, cover letter, and letter of recommendation. Students are then ready to interview for a paid summer internship and gain real-world experience through a paid summer internship.

You can support the success of our students this year by becoming an employer internship host, providing internship sponsorship funding, or student internship scholarships.

If you are interested in hosting an intern next summer, please contact Dr. Dennis Johnson, EXP Senior Program Manager, at dennis@expfuture.org for more details.
