EXP Receives Grant from Boeing to Inspire Next Generation of Innovators

A third-time grant recipient, the opportunity engine makes a difference in the community by connecting young people with real-world experience in aerospace and other high-growth industries

Los Angeles, CA (December 2018) -- EXP, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Carson and operating throughout Southern California, receives a grant from The Boeing Company, the global leader in aerospace, to support its goal to prepare students for better lives.

EXP (formerly ITEP - International Trade Education Programs) is one of 443 nonprofit organizations in 47 countries which benefits from Boeing’s $55 million charitable grant package through 2019 and beyond. Anchored by local and regional employee engagement activities, Boeing corporate giving is focused on increasing access to globally competitive STEM learning in underserved and underrepresented communities, improving technical workforce skills and supporting military families and veterans. Boeing investments also address unique local challenges critical to communities where the company operates.

“We are thankful to have Boeing as our partner, helping us unlock doors for young people and fueling the opportunity engine,” said Amy Grat, CEO of EXP. “Whether it’s supporting Women in STEM day or having Boeing engineers as classroom speakers, Boeing and its employees are in full support of our programs, students and educators.”

"Our people have unique skills and an unwavering passion for making a difference in the world, both through our products and services and the ways we give back to our communities," said Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing chairman, president and chief executive officer, in the press release. "When that's combined with our professional networks, partnerships and financial resources, we have the potential to drive positive, lasting change across the globe in important areas such as STEM learning and veterans' support."
